Class Descriptions

  • Survivorship I Yoga:  In partnership with the Cancer CAREpoint organization, this donation-based weekly class is offered to support our South Bay community; incorporating breath work, guided meditation, gentle movements and supported resting postures, this class focuses on improving circulation and reducing stress while emphasizing the unique needs of the cancer patient, survivor and caregiver. No prior experience is required, all levels of health are welcome, and the class is available to patients, their caregivers, cancer survivors, as well as any professionals working with cancer patients. 
  • Survivorship II Yoga:  In partnership with the Cancer CAREpoint organization, this free weekly class offers the next step after aggressive treatment is done. Expect a mixture of breathing, reflecting, standing and seated yoga poses and practices, all designed to help you reclaim your quality of life and live beyond cancer. No prior yoga experience required. Open to cancer survivors and their caregivers. Bring your own mat, pillow and beach towel. Space is limited; please register for class by emailing or calling Cancer CAREpoint.
  • Gentle Yoga for Cancer Recovery: In partnership with the  Stanford Cancer Supportive Care Program, this free weekly class is offered to support our Peninsula community; incorporating restorative, yin and supported standing postures with breathing and mindfulness techniques to support those recovering from cancer; this class is available to patients, their caregivers and cancer survivors. 
  • Basic Yoga for Cancer Recovery: In partnership with the  Stanford Cancer Supportive Care Program, this free weekly class focuses on rebuilding balance, strength and focus, so that survivor's may return to wellness and feel comfortable stepping into any yoga class, knowing how to support themselves.
  • Yin Yoga: A class that uses specific floor poses held for extended time to open connective tissues and cultivate mindfulness.
  • Restorative Yoga: A class that uses floor poses that are supported by blocks, blankets and bolsters, held for extended time to soothe the nervous system through stillness and breathing practices.
